Financial overview

The Institute is a private non-profit-making institution that is organisationally divided into 2 funds: “Martinus Idealfond (The Martinus Ideal Fund)” and “Martinus Aktivitetsfond (The Martinus Activity Fund)”. The work done is taken care of by a number of committees and working groups.

Tasks

Martinus Idealfond (The Martinus Ideal Fund)

Martinus Idealfond is a non-profit-making fund that is responsible for Martinus’ works and owns the copyright to them. The funds aims are to:

  • preserve Martinus’ collected works unaltered as he left them
  • provide information about these works
  •  make the works available to those interested through publishing, translation and teaching, as well as
  • subsidising activities that promote these aims.

The Board

Martinus Idealfond is lead by a board, which, in accordance with Martinus’ wishes, is called the ”council”. The council has the overall responsibility for all of the Institute’s tasks. The council consists of 5 members and 2 substitutes. Being self-selective, the council itself selects a new member when a member withdraws. No one except the council members appointed by Martinus himself can be a substitute or a member of the council for more that 7 years altogether. After one has retired, one cannot be reinstated. See current members of the council.

Tasks

Martinus Aktivitetsfond (The Martinus Activity Fund)

The Martinus Aktivitetsfond is responsible for the practical tasks involved in the Institute’s publishing business and courses. That is to say:

  • The publication, sale and distribution of Martinus’ works and the magazine Kosmos, as well as
  • running courses, rental of course accommodation, the running of the restaurant “Terrassen” etc.

Since the users pay directly for these services, the fund, according to the rules, has the status of an commercial fund that must pay its own way financially

The Board

Martinus Aktivitetsfond has a board with 3 members who are appointed and replaced according to the same rules as those for the Idealfond mentioned above. See current members of the board.
