All the energy in the universe together appears in seven basic forms of vibration. An "eternal plane". The "Mother energy". The basic energies are symbolised as "steps on a ladder"  254. As everything which comes under the term "experience" can exist only as synonymous with vibration and movement, the whole universe in all details will be synonymous with an endless ocean of combinations of energy and movement, rays and wavelengths, each of which, as it comes to be experienced by living beings, forms a new picture in the mental picture-gallery which in everyday life is understood as "consciousness". The whole of this universal energy presents itself in seven great basic forms of vibration which, according to their particular way of manifesting themselves and their penetrating ability, may be defined as identical with an upgrading scale from a lesser to a more effective development in which each single basic type of energy - with the exception of the seventh - appears as a step. The seventh energy forms an "eternal plane" in which each of the other six basic energies have their zones of manifestation and therefore in Livets Bog it has been termed the "Mother energy". In that eternal plane the six other energies each have a zone where they dominate completely and characterize existence with their particular nature or vibration. In this way these zones present themselves as strongly deviating from each other in their appearance and manifestation. This deviation comes about in that those six zones, as it were, make up a progressive rise towards perfection and, as already mentioned, are expressed or symbolised as constituting steps on a ladder or stairway, on which the lowest step is made up of the basic energy which has the least penetrating power and the topmost one the energy which has the greatest penetrating power, while the remaining ones form gradual steps in between, all according to their nature or power of expansion.
We shall now review these basic energies in the order in which they appear in existence.
