130. Guiding remarks.
In analysing human beings of the second, third, fourth and fifth sections, we have come a good way into
the zone of marriage where we see that a large part of all people's emotional life is not available for a religious attitude, but has been converted to the "sex-urge" which expresses itself in what we call
falling in love, marriage, family life, parental love, maintenance of the family and so on, with appertaining results both happy and unhappy.
The more the individual's emotional life still shows itself in these factors, the less is he accessible to religious and spiritual matters; consequently, he will appear less spiritual and more materialistic.
However, as these sections are placed in a zone of evolution where sexual life goes through
a very strong cosmic transformation, the so-called "natural" sexuality of that zone greatly
degenerates (according to later analyses in Livets Bog).
Marriages become superficial and unhappy.
Therefore I have called this zone
the "zone of unhappy marriages".
This can be considered as constituting the elementary stage of another zone of existence which I have defined as the
"zone of infertility", because it is here that the degeneration has reached a stage where
people are quite unsuited to be husbands or wives.
According to cosmic analysis this zone represents the fundamental boundary
between
animal and human sexuality.
To understand this one must remember that terrestrial people - seen simply as individuals - are not yet identical with
cosmic and complete human beings but differ from them by belonging to the animal kingdom, and from a bodily point of view they are still only mammals, still living according to those laws concerning sex, fertilization and propagation.
On the other hand, the perfect human being is one who lives under quite different sexual laws and conditions, because all sexual powers are converted into natural capacities which make all his manifestations
a practical observance of the law of existence, letting his consciousness,
as if in the feeling of God's presence, shine like a sun with life-giving warmth on everything and everybody around, cleansed from all animal and unfinished tendencies as
gender, jealousy and possessiveness.
So, terrestrial people and real cosmic human beings differ mainly in the fact that the former, by sexuality, maintain tendencies which attach them to the animal kingdom, while the latter's sexuality, on the contrary, maintain abilities attached to the real human kingdom.
Thus, the animal kingdom and the real human kingdom each has its own individual form of sexuality which accordingly create either animal or human capacities and tendencies.
So sexuality is the background behind every form of creation, behind every form for the manifestation of consciousness.
Sexuality is the inner core of the Divine Creative Principle, and the subjects touched upon here are expressed as the
"Highest Fire" and will be analysed later on in Livets Bog.
