At the commencement of the functioning of the body of intelligence the individual is able to work with the fourth basic energy in existence, namely intelligence energy.
With this energy he is able to "lift" his memory impressions, taking them out of their original place in the consciousness and putting them in new combinations more beneficial to himself, whereby the faculty of recognition produced and sustained by those same memories is strengthened and made sharper, so that from being able to result only in "premonition" it now becomes "foreknowledge".
In order to make this clear one must understand that memory pictures actually arise in the mind in exactly the same order as the experienced impressions (of which they are the result) have entered the mind.
Since these experiences, as we already know, are of many different kinds, like sight, hearing, taste and smell, together with ordinary as yet undefined experiences of feeling, and these enter the consciousness in a quite unorganized or haphazard order, so one will see that memories of them are completely disconnected from each other.
In the middle of an accumulation of auditory memories there might eventually appear a single small and weak memory of sight, and in an accumulation of taste memories there may perhaps appear here and there some single memories of smell and so forth.
The memories of the creature thus arrive in the first instance in complete disorder in relation to each other.
As these memories carry the faculty of recognition, so this faculty becomes strongest wherever the memories in question chance to be gathered in a certain area, and quite weak and valueless in the same field where those memories are found only singly here and there in memory groups of other kinds.
At the same time, because of the presence of unfamiliar memories in these latter groups and their collective influence on the faculty of recognition, they become scattered and fragmentary so that the faculty of recognition in that particular area is bound to be correspondingly diminished and weakened.
In this way many of the individual's experiences leave behind memories spread around singly in the middle of other kinds of memories and this weakens their collective influence on the faculty of recognition at the same time as they become valueless in their own field.
To organize collective memories in such a way that all of the same type come to be grouped together would increase the strength of the faculty of recognition in the area in question and at the same time no memories would be wasted.
But to collect the memories and group them in their specific areas cannot be done with the physical body.
Memories are not objects one can grasp with the hands.
However, that does not prevent them from being "objects" which can be "lifted" and "carried about", remodelled or transformed; but for that a special body is required.
This body is equivalent to the embryonic body of intelligence appearing in terrestrial mankind.
With this body one can "lift" memories, put the different types together so that each type will make up its own specific concentrated section cleansed from extraneous memories and thus apparent in pure essence.
By this the human being has all his recollections in the area concerned utilized, which means that he has
the ability to concentrate the whole of his collected possession of power in that area whereby his faculty of recognition in that same area has the greatest possible basis from which to evolve.
