On account of the primitive condition of the body of memory in his inner world terrestrial man is only conscious of a fragment of his single present life and that fragment consists only of an infinitesimal or microscopic part of that inner world which reveals itself in the culmination zone of the kingdom of bliss.
But although the individual cannot remember his own inner world fundamentally before reaching the kingdom of bliss, he is not precluded from beginning to use the "gold copies" in his outer manifestation already in planes of existence previous to that kingdom, that is to say when he arrives at the stage where the kernel of his body of intuition begins to function; however, this use of the
"gold copies" does not give
a conscious memory of eternity but only an experience of it, because this experience is the same as cosmic sight and this has its culmination zone in the divine world.
There is, thus, a principle difference between the individual experiencing his inner world through the power of his body of memory and experiencing it through the power of his body of intuition.
In the first case it will be synonymous with "remembering" and in the second case with "new experiences".
This difference becomes more apparent when one realises that
the faculty of memory is a type of supreme faculty of feeling while the faculty of intuition is a type of supreme faculty of seeing.
Regarding the faculty of seeing we know from the physical world that it is a kind of faculty of feeling.
With the ordinary faculty of feeling one can directly feel one's bodily component parts, that is to say the parts which are penetrated by the nervous system, but not the inorganic parts, meaning those bodily areas to which the nervous system cannot be transmitted;
with the faculty of seeing, on the other hand, one can experience inorganic or mineral realities.
One can thus experience reactions in that reality we call "light", which is of a mineral nature.
When we thus "see" an object, in reality it means only that we see the reaction between that object and the light.
And so, by virtue of sight, we perceive not the object we are "looking at", but its influence on the light.
Where it does not influence the light we are not in contact with the object unless in one way or another it is in direct touch with organic parts of our physical structure and so through the ordinary kind of feeling we become conscious of it.
For example, we do not feel our nails or hair, because these are of a mineral nature and inaccessible to the nervous system.
Therefore we are able to cut our nails and hair without feeling it, which does not apply in the case of the organic parts of the body, where such an operation would be felt as pain.
Thus, we are directly aware of the organic parts of our physical body,
while we are only indirectly aware of the inorganic parts, because they are mainly experienced through the faculty of seeing.
Just as the individual's body of feeling does not reach directly to the mineral parts of the consciousness, so that the latter seem without feeling,
so will the individual's memory material or "gold copies" be quite without feeling in areas where, as mentioned above, the body of memory - constituting a higher body of feeling - does not extend.
Just as with the "gold copies" and mineral parts,
the individual can experience them only in an indirect way.
This indirect way where the "gold copies" are concerned is therefore "intuition", this being the individual's highest faculty of seeing.
The fact is, therefore, that with the body of intuition the individual can experience the reaction between those copies and intuition energy in the same way, as mentioned above, that he could notice the reaction between material objects and light.
Intuition, then, represents the laws of sight and therefore has been called "cosmic sight".
So with the body of intuition one does not "feel" the "gold copies" but the reaction of their influence on intuition energy; this experience becomes a kind of outer happening or the same as "seeing".
With the body of memory one does not "see" the "gold copies" but senses them directly.
As gravity energy at this stage is only latent, that "sensation" can never under any circumstance do any harm or be the same as suffering, but, because the substance of the "gold copies" is love material, it is experienced as identical with the highest form of ecstasy, which is the same as "bliss".
