A comparison between intuitive sight and physical sight and a comparison between the body of memory and the body of feeling. The experience of eternity in the form of "sight" and "feeling"
214. Just as one can see objects other than one's own body with the physical sight, then naturally with intuition's sight one can also see "gold copies" other than one's own. But just as one cannot feel directly with the physical body areas where the nerve fibres do not touch and therefore cannot feel physical pain in the bodies of fellow beings, neither can one with the body of memory feel their "gold copies" or memory material. With the body of memory one is able to experience only one's own memories. But later on the faculty of memory will be of such a remarkable nature by virtue of the body of memory that the individual will be able to sense his memory material or "gold copies" right back to previous evolutionary spirals. But meanwhile, as we have just mentioned, the faculty of memory is almost latent in terrestrial people and so they cannot "sense" their memories further back than to the first years of their present life. With the body of intuition they will therefore have the ability not to "sense" but to "see" their own and their fellow beings' "gold copies", which is equivalent to seeing the "history of the universe". In other words, "cosmic sight" or the body of intuition gives the individual the experience of eternity in the form of "seeing", while the body of memory or body of bliss gives him the same experience but in the form of direct feeling.
