The fact of being informed about physically invisible matter – that is, substances of which our thoughts are built up, whether they are of love or hate, joy or sorrow, faith or doubt, hope or disappointment – undoubtedly gives one a mental superiority through which these phenomena are brought under the absolute control of reason and thereby of the will. And when mental phenomena are controlled by reason – that is, when they become perfected intellectual acts of the will – then they will no longer contact each other incorrectly. A skilled cosmic chemist knows only too well the peril of making mistakes with substances and he has to be on his guard not to handle them imprudently. Just as a qualified physical chemist will never reach the point of mistaking hydrochloric acid for water when he wants to wash his hands, and naturally will not consider a hot oven the suitable place for any possible waste dynamite but in all ways tries to render his handling of deadly materials as safe as possible, in the same way the cosmic chemist will also perfect as much as possible his dealing with cosmic "chemicals", especially as these substances are in no area whatsoever any less dangerous than physical ones.
