301. Life itself offers abundant proof that the above is accurate and indeed a fact.
      It is known that every single substance in existence has its own reaction-potential so that when that substance is combined with certain other substances, it can create a state of harmony, whilst there are other kinds of substances with which it cannot be combined without creating terrible disharmony, explosions and destruction. Therefore it is evident that the combining of different substances or energies is by no means insignificant, for, in order to obtain a certain result, one has to follow exactly the prescription for the combination of those cosmic energies whose particular reaction can give that particular desired result, especially as this very result can actually only exist as a reaction of those energies employed.
      Perhaps the above can be more easily understood by the following example: if a man wishes to create a material form of one kind or another, whether it be a house, a garden, some furnishings or such like, first of all he has to draw up a plan in his mind of how he wishes that particular form to be in its finished state. But "making a plan" is actually in itself nothing less than a cosmic-chemical experiment. In order to make this "plan", he has to gather together all his experiences in the special area to which that particular thing belongs. But these various experiences are representing thoughts, which again, are made up of matter. If these experiences are correct then their chemical combination, which constitutes the ready-made plan, will also be correct. And then we say of such a correct or perfect plan, that it is "logical".
      If the experiences which the physical creator had at his disposal in this case were not accurate, but were merely assumptions or unproven theories which turned out to be incorrect, they would inevitably put their mark on the finished plan and this would indicate that the cosmic-chemical combination was a mixture of energies which did not fit together, in that they brought about reactions not compatible with the desired plan. The reactions of these alien energies would act as "mistakes", thereby causing the plan to emerge as "illogical".
      The above example is more than a mere example – it is the literal truth. For a plan to be "logical", the cosmic energies – that is to say the right thoughts – have to be correctly combined and with no irrelevant energies (thoughts) to disturb the harmony. If, on the other hand, a plan is "illogical", the cosmic energies of which it is composed – that is to say the thoughts of which it consists – will be more or less irrelevant to that plan and will consequently be an obstruction to the attainment of the result that the instigator of the plan had initially desired.
