Livets Bog, vol. 2
Intuition and worldredeemers. The I's fifth great source of power. Intuition-energy is identical with the "Holy Spirit".
355. But behind this source of power there exists yet another energy to help the I's manifestation in external matter. This source of power shows itself as an influx into the consciousness of ready-made concepts, material for ideas, or knowledge itself. The experience of this influx of knowledge into the consciousness is known to us as "intuition". But as this influx of ready-made ideas into the consciousness is a functional ability then, like the other four great expansions of consciousness, it is also a function of energy. And in "Livets Bog" it is this energy I have called "intuition-energy".
As this energy, or type of matter, is the one least used by terrestrial man at his present stage of being, there are not many details with which to define it. A primitive person has little knowledge of "intuition". On the other hand, this energy is often revealed in the works of great writers and artists and to a particular degree by world-redeemers. For the latter, it is this energy that forms the basis of all their knowledge. Such beings are actually so far advanced in development that they have "intuition-energy" under control of their will, which is not the case with the other beings mentioned above. As a rule intuition becomes effective in artists and writers only in certain states of ecstasy, for example in the joy of falling in love, delight in nature and other forms of pleasure. When filled with an ecstasy of this kind, the artist or writer is infused with ideas for his creative production.
The more perfected this "intuition" is, the more ready-made is the knowledge that streams into the brain through that "intuition". Thus whole plays, novels or poems pour into the brain or consciousness of the writer. The material received by such people in this way is practically complete, so that the brain-work, with regard to its production and organization, is minimal.
In the case of world-redeemers, whose "faculty of intuition" is perfect and fully under volitional control, the "experience of intuition" is the sole great entrance to the zones and spheres of higher worlds, an unlimited journey back and forth through the endless time and space of the Universe, an experience of the highest mysteries of life, and a complete revelation of the fundament of the Universe, God's consciousness, the eternal Father.
As such a use of the "faculty of intuition" can only take place at the level of development of world-redeemers, it is obvious that, at this level, it is unknown for ordinary terrestrial people. But for those who have the ability to investigate the consciousness possessed by world-redeemers, the proofs of the existence of such a faculty will be many.
Thus "intuition" constitutes a higher form of experiencing, differing from the ordinary in that it is, so to speak, of an inner nature. An individual in physical flesh and blood senses "intuition' as an experience from within. All other experiences of knowledge are actually experienced from without.
While most living beings can only experience knowledge from the outside, through physical events and incidents, individuals in whom "intuition" is developed will thus meet with knowledge and experiences from within. And as we will see later on in a special analysis of this subject, an individual of the latter kind will find himself in two worlds.
As it cannot be disproved that many artists in literature as well as in the visual arts have received most of the material for producing their works of genius through inward experiences and therefore these works could not possibly be the product of pure intelligent brain conjecture, it thus becomes a fact that the "faculty of intuition", and the energy revealed through it, does indeed exist.
As "intuition-energy" constitutes that material in which the thought-forms containing the highest knowledge and recognition of life and existence become manifest, it is thus shown to be identical with that expression in the Bible – the "Holy Spirit". This divine spirit or energy is the I's fifth great source of power.
