365. Thus, in the "kingdom of wisdom" and in the next kingdom, matter has a consistency that takes the form of the beings' concentrated wishes or desires.
Therefore one can understand the absolute correctness of how the "killing energy" is so little to the fore in this kingdom and that beings in the physical world have to learn to think with more perfection so that perfect thinking can become an automatic function, or "C knowledge", before they can become natural inmates of these divine regions.
Imagine if this same power, this mental mastery over matter which is the leading factor in the above kingdom, were also applicable in the animal kingdom, the natural zone of terrestrial man.
Think what a divine arrangement it is that the sons of hate and egoism are placed in a zone where matter can only be converted indirectly by the individual's thoughts and only with great difficulty and effort.
Think how good it is that murderous thoughts for the most part have to be worked out in stone and steel before they strike flesh and blood, and that people's entire way of life, whether on land or on water or in the skies is conditioned by atmospheric pressure.
No wonder that here Man must "eat his bread by the sweat of his brow".
The individual himself considers this to be a "curse" but in the divine world plan it is a "blessing".
Just think what would happen if this hating, killing, self-admiring being did not live in bound matter, but was in a liberated form of life where matter obeyed thoughts directly in the same way as in the "kingdom of wisdom".
The whole of hate's repertoire of evil wishes towards an enemy would be able to develop to fruition just by a concentration of thought.
For with this concentration the superior avenger would also be able to force upon an inferior enemy the whole outcome of ingenuity in refined vengeance.
He would, for instance, be able to compel an adversary to live the life of a leper, to keep his face in a state of permanent disfigurement, and to destroy his organism as soon as it materialized or became visible.
Everything, in fact, that an ingenious avenger could think of or conjure up in the way of evil attack on an enemy could be brought about.
Yet none of it would actually happen here on this terrestrial globe on account of the solidity of matter; however, it would have been possible if this very solidity had not existed.
Without this solidity everything that can be imagined of brutality and bodily injury could be levelled against one's inferior enemy without any practical preparation of any kind, but on the contrary, exclusively by ones own power of thought.
And one's residence in the physical zone would become of such an extremely dark and sorrowful nature that the present dance-of-death on the earthly battlefields amidst bomb-explosions, machine-gun fire, shell bursts and the heart-rending cries of wounded, mutilated beings in their death throes, would be an immeasurably desirable experience of paradise compared with the first situation described above.
Therefore it is no wonder that the way out of the zone of heavy matter can only be through the development of "love to one's neighbour".
As long as the individual is a danger to his surroundings, he has to remain under the burden of heavy matter.
Solid matter is thus life's "straightjacket".
When the individual becomes unselfish his "straightjacket" releases and he becomes emancipated.
At that point matter obeys his will gladly and directly so that the portals of true life begin to open before the entranced son of God.
