With reference to the extraordinarily high standard of this conscious life, in which the beings are actually only able to think with perfection and all have the greatest sympathy and love for their fellow beings, living only for the happiness of others, then it can be understood what an immeasurably divine experience it is to be in this heavenly world. It is also easy to understand what a divine blessing it is that the inner conscious life of these beings here is an "external" world, accessible for all, for it can spread over all things, embracing and enveloping everyone without exception in its intellectual cloak of love. And one can also understand how wonderfully perfect it is that this same principle does not exist at all in the zone of terrestrial man where consciousness is anything but intellectually perfect or loving. It is a blessing that hate, envy and selfishness, bloodthirstiness and destructive tendencies can only be indirectly disclosed towards fellow beings through the heavy outer physical world. It is good that conscious life among beings in the animal zone is an inner world which can become visible only when it has burst some of its shackles whether in the form of flesh and blood, earth and water, or stone and metal. And it is also good that, in actual fact, these beings can make their inner primitive conscious life accessible to other beings only "by the sweat of their brow".
      A consciousness which expresses supreme intellectuality and love and consequently is in perfect contact with the fundamental laws of the Universe and so to the same degree cannot but be in harmony with the Godhead, does not need to be pinioned in the "strait-jacket" of matter or substance. That condition is only for those beings who do not wish to help Providence protect, caress and gladden fellow beings, but on the contrary exclusively devote themselves to themselves. For these beings such density of matter is a blessing, because it constitutes the material from which emerges that terror and dance of death, that hell and purgatory which eventually is able to melt the freezing iceberg of egoism and create instead intellectuality and love.
