389. But it is natural that only an atmosphere of this kind could be worthy of the very highest domain of God. If the nature of it were not as described here, indeed the atmosphere could not be the culmination of that light whose rays – like a reflection of the words from the mouths of prophets and world redeemers – have already been engrafted into the history of terrestrial man as "the seed, through which all generations of the Earth shall be blessed". And without being a revelation of such holiness and purity of heart as is here spoken of, it would not be possible for God's own domain to be that zone where the promise told in the Bible could be realized – the promise of "freedom and power, of dominion over worlds, of creation's fruitfulness and multiplicity and of the possession of glory in the Godhead before the world began". Likewise, the transcendence over matter, time and space which makes for the individual "one day as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day", could not have become realistic fact; neither could the materialization which makes the living being into "God's image after his likeness", nor the life-form which makes the being "one with the Father" and his consequent identity as the "Son of God".
      Without the zone outlined here, all idealism in the world would have no reality behind it. All the great truths in the Bible and other holy books would be nothing more than unhealthy imaginings and superstitions. Those destructive realities such as egoism, hatred and envy, and other such thought-climates which bring sorrow and misfortune, would inevitably become life's rallying cry. But as the manifestation of holy truths always irrevocably gives rise to hope for the ideal of love and a longing to be embraced by one's "neighbour's" sympathy – that affection between beings mentioned earlier in connection with life in the divine world – then this hope and these longings become in themselves the first irrefutable basis for the existence of such a world. Otherwise these longings and this hope for higher idealism would surely have been aroused to no purpose, and as yet no sincere investigator has ever found such purposelessness in anything which Nature produces or creates. Such an investigator, wishing to keep in contact with the logic of the Universe and long before he himself has reached "cosmic consciousness", must from the start accept theoretically the possibility of the existence of a higher world, this possibility being built up and consolidated on the basis of the wealth of experience from a world awash with blood as a result of wars and ignorant blunderings – the possibility of a higher world where all destructive and mentally undermining realities are forever excluded from all its areas.
      An ideal which expresses anything less than that I have spoken of above, would never fulfil the goal of those created longings and thus cannot be satisfying for a being satiated with physical existence. A being who has out-lived to full capacity all physical status, wealth, honour and fame in terms of physical talents and technical ingenuity, cannot have dreams which could be fulfilled by a renewed experience of the same things. The laws of life ensure quite invariably that longings can only incline towards a contrast to that with which one is overflowing and satiated. Consequently, it will be impossible to deny the existence of spiritual worlds. They are the links in the circuit of life which are necessary if the world-picture is not to continue to be a concept which – devoid of knowledge about the immortality of living beings and the existence of their fate and their talents, and also about the existence of the basic energies and the three X's – is a concept quite without the mathematical links which could make it a genuine scientific understanding of the truly divine identity of life and living beings. Such an idea of the Universe, then, without the above facts, must continue to remain an extremely stunted world-picture, from which no mathematical solution – and therefore no "justification" whatsoever for injustice – would come to light or indeed exist.
      However, a world-picture in which "injustice" cannot be mathematically proved to be the expression of a higher power's loving care and perfect logical creation, but has to be incorporated through an idea that "the ways of the Lord are past understanding" is not scientific and therefore has no kind of fundamental solution to life's most important questions: "what is truth?," "where are we from?" and "where are we going?"
      However fantastic my description of the divine worlds may possibly be to some readers, it certainly does possess the mathematical basis to make an exact science of its morals and higher idealism. Our world will actually hunger and thirst for this, especially after the Armageddon even now already on its way, for it provides that intellectual stability which can make the "word of God" both permanent and enduring even though great mental and physical regions disintegrate and perish. What I say here is therefore a scientific confirmation of the divine dictum "Heaven and earth shall pass away, but My words shall not pass away".
      Without the facts mentioned in my description of the higher worlds, there would be no spiral-cycle whatsoever, nor could any form of renewal or "everlasting life" exist. An account of life on this kind of basis would certainly be the exact opposite of the living facts which already long since have been accepted by the world of material science. Life forms a cycle. Its values endure eternally even though its forms change. The present book, then, by virtue of its account of the higher worlds in the spiral, is in contact with the principles of cycles and mathematics and with the eternal truth.
