391. As shown on the symbol, "memory-energy" is strongly increasing in the "divine world". And with this increase the individual's experience becomes more and more a movement backwards and forwards in times previously lived and a re-experiencing of things and events during those times. After the culmination of "intuition-energy" – that is to say after the individual's greatest outward display of consciousness in matter, and his highest manifestation of visibility and communication with fellow beings – this outward manifestation degenerates in favour of his recollections and the reliving of events during the transit through the spiral. This, again, means that the being moves his awake day-consciousness more and more over to his area of recollection, meaning to his own created "inner world". Outwardly his intellectual manifestations become more and more latent. All manifestations strongly diminish, his halo or aura becomes less glowing and bright. And at last the being no longer shows any awake day-consciousness outwardly. Only a series of automatic functions indicate the presence of the being in existence. And now the being is no longer in the "divine world", but has become an inhabitant of the spiral's last kingdom – the "kingdom of bliss", the world of "gold-copies".
      With the culmination of the being's predominantly intellectual domain in the "divine world", which – as we saw above – constituted an existence completely without pain and suffering, he develops at the same time a growing satiation with this totally trouble-free experience of life. And this sense of satiation becomes the moment of release towards a turning point in the being's whole form of life and relationship with Providence or the Godhead.
      Just as satiation in the purely material or physical world creates repulsion or distaste for whatever one has become tired of, and thus becomes a divine device to prevent "over-eating", in the same way satiation has its mission in each kingdom of the spiral. Not a single individual is able to leave a zone or a kingdom in the spiral until he is absolutely satiated with that kingdom's particular traditions or forms of life. As long as these still attract the being and consequently contribute to his happiness, then it is impossible for him to enter any other mental kingdom. Thus satiation creates a possibility or a place for a wish to undergo a contrast to his present experiences. It is an expression of this kind of satiation when, for example, one says about something that it has been experienced "ad nauseam".
      As this law of satiation is wholly indispensable in the cycle of life then it will also apply in the "divine world", and so beings in that high world can, in fact, also experience the light, the perfection of existence, the enjoyment of pleasure and of love to such a degree that eventually these experiences, in all reality, become "commonplace" – in other words – "tedious". And we see here that the principle of the "Fall of Man" is also in place in God's own world – that is, the desire to violate the laws of a zone and acquire some other form of existence which can give that joy and happiness now unattainable, on account of satiation, in the zone where a being currently belongs. And fortunately so, for if this were not the case the whole cycle would come to a standstill. The beings would actually be doomed to "eat themselves to death" with those things of which they had long since had enough. They would be forced to occupy themselves with things which had become an anathema to them and the essence of boredom. The "divine world" would become a hell for its inhabitants, in spite of its identity as God's own world, in spite of all its radiant intellectual light and love. But such is certainly not the case. The "divine world" can in no way become a "hell", owing to the principle of the cycle of life which has the effect of enabling a being to move freely from zone to zone according to his own desire and the urgency of his wishes. Every change of conditions happens solely on the basis of the being's own wishes and longings. And no one can reach the point of leaving the divine worlds any more than he can enter them except by the strength of his own desire, that is by his own absolute will.
