395. Thus the "mineral kingdom's" "lifelessness" is due simply to the fact that all its functions are automatic. This is because the day-consciousness belonging to the living source of those functions, is concentrated on the beings' recollections. The main function of consciousness at this stage is "memory". The beings' awake day-consciousness is exclusively directed inwards towards their own "inner" world. And as it is this which gives character to the individual's conscious experience, and this character is of such an extremely high feeling of pleasantness, then it must be expressed as the culmination of all quiet joy and delight which again is the same as what we call "bliss". Therefore I have called this area of the spiral where life is based only on "inner" experience, the "kingdom of bliss".
      Therefore the "mineral kingdom" is not the correct term for this zone in that, as the present analysis shows, it does not cover the deeper or true supporting factor within this zone.
