But it is not only the experience of that perfect result left behind by the dark events in the being's consciousness which illuminates the reliving of previous aeons in the zone of the "killing principle". The fact is that the "killing materials" are the spiritual world's "base metals" and, like the earthly base metals, they are transitory and perishable. So, in effect, what remains behind are those areas of the individual's experiences in the dark zone which were built up from the spiritual world's "precious metals" – that is to say, sympathy and love towards fellow beings. Just as earthly gold cannot be destroyed by rust, neither can the "precious" metals in the salient areas of the individual's previous experiences in the animal kingdom – or "hell" – be corroded either, but remain still brighter and more luminous than before according to how they are freed from the "rust", that is, the covering of the impermanent material. It is this fact – that "time heals all wounds" – which already has its effect here on this terrestrial plane.
      For most people it is a fact that memories always shine in a more beautiful light than the reality of which they are now but a recollection; and this light is all the stronger the greater the lapse of time between the reality and its reliving in the form of memories. All memories in the "kingdom of bliss" will, therefore, be extraordinarily bright. They are actually all recollections of lives and details from vanished times. In this kingdom there do not exist any conscious "new experiences". The being here is in fact not day-conscious in the "outside world". Therefore, all day-conscious experiences here consist only of memories, or the reliving of conditions already previously experienced.
