407. The "being in bliss" is not day-conscious in the "outside world". He is consciously awake only in his "inner world", that is to say, in memories of those previous spiral zones and spheres he has lived through. With the being's awakening interest in these zones, we have before us in the fullest sense what the parable of the "prodigal son" symbolizes. It is here that the son of God is, in principle, leaving his Heavenly Father in his consciousness on account of his awakening interest and pleasure in the life principle of previous zones. To repeat – the being with increasing interest and longing to be unintellectual and primitive, is moving further and further away from the true knowledge which he possessed in the "divine world". This is very strongly encouraged still further by the evident fact that the being in the "kingdom of bliss" cannot sense at all in the "outer world" and thereby is cut off from experiencing "new knowledge". The being's intellectuality is, so to speak, "dying". With his increasing interest in the "inner world" his ability to manifest in the "outer world" withers. But this, too, is divine. For without this condition there would be no rest for the being. His experience of life would be an everlasting unbroken chain of work and manifestation. So there would never at any time be a possibility for the contrast to work or the output of energy which can make this or that a pleasure to experience. In this way the "kingdom of bliss" is the beginning of a kind of cosmic rest or sleep-zone for the being's intellectuality.
