As indicated on the symbol, it is still "intuition-energy" which to a marked degree is represented in the "kingdom of bliss" and it is the same with "intelligence-energy" the proportion of which, however, corresponds at this point to the proportion in the terrestrial zone. But here it is actually degenerating while in the world of terrestrial man it is developing.
      As these energies constitute intellectual energies they contribute towards supporting the individual's day-consciousness in the "kingdom of bliss". And so this same day-consciousness in that kingdom does not consist solely of "remembering", that is to say, going back to details of previous times and experiences. By means of those two intellectual energies the being is able to reflect upon his experiences of past events. By means of "intelligence" he can analyze their nature and assess their value, and by means of "intuition" he can make use of the experience gained for new ideas or processes of creation. And it is this newly acquired intellectual material which will especially characterize an individual's longing, and consequently the unfolding of the power of his abilities in the form of germinating new talents. This again entails that the beginning manifestations of the "being in bliss" in the "outside world" can in no case whatsoever be a total repetition of his former manifestations in that world. Only in the basic principle are the new manifestations of the same kind as the former, but not at all in variation. And here we have arrived at the circumstance which is at the basis for my describing a being's eternal course of life as a "spiral".
      If conditions were not exactly as described, no new variation of any kind could come about in a being's manifestation. Every time he passed through the "kingdom of bliss" his existence would be an exact replica of the preceding spiral and the being's course of life would then have to be described as going round and round in a ring or circle. And the principle of satiation would then, sooner or later, take effect and, in the form of this eternal repetition, make existence an anathema, a "hell", creating longings which could never be satisfied, because those new variations, which are absolutely necessary for satisfying the longings, would not exist nor could ever come about. Death would long since have become ruler of the Universe. But fortunately this is the opposite of the existing fact. Owing to "intelligence" and "intuition' the experience in each transit of the spiral makes for a new variation and one which satisfies every longing.
      As this principle thus guarantees that every normal longing finds fulfilment and every fulfilment creates a new longing which in turn also finds fulfilment and so on continuously, then life is indeed revealed here as an eternal imperishable cycle which bears out the fact that death can never be more than an imagined contrast to life. When every longing finds fulfilment and every fulfilment creates new longing, then in the course of life there can never exist a point of "death"; and thus eternal existence becomes obvious as an absolutely irrefutable and true reality.
