Everything known to us as fire and heat is thus identical with the reaction of the longing or desire of "beings in bliss" for a physical existence, which through their subconsciousness has been transformed into an automatic function. Wherever there occurs heat or fire it is the same as transformed "ecstasy" or the "energy of bliss". So fire is the first result visible on the physical plane of the existence of heavenly worlds. It is a realistic message from a previous celestial state of being. Thus it is beings from the "kingdom of bliss" who cause suns to shine in the Universe. The laws and principles of the Universe are so divine, wise and loving that all sunlight and consequently all solar warmth existing on physical worlds, which are in themselves dark and cold, is in a true sense the work of living individuals and is an expression of life from divine beings, a reflection of celestial wills, wishes and longings transformed into physical automatic functioning. Up above our heads, a heavenly world's mentality shines, illuminates and warms in the form of physical sunshine. So loving and of such genius is our co-existence with celestial beings that this, their transformed mentality, lights our footsteps, produces our food, embellishes our appearance and uplifts us inwardly; it is the warmth in our blood and the brightness in our eyes. Indeed, we have much to be grateful for in such cooperation with celestial beings. For example, what about the solid matter beneath our feet? Is it not written that one shall "build his house upon a rock"? But how could this rock come into being if it were not for the fact (as we shall understand later) that the rock is transformed sunshine? Is it not just the same with regard to the skeleton in our own physical body? Does not this transformed sunshine constitute the very basis of our ability for movement, our upright gait and carriage? And our whole physical Earth itself – was it not at one time a flaming, sparkling ocean of sunshine? What are gold, silver, precious stones and crystals other than transformed sunshine? And is it not just that permanent ability of these objects to reflect light, their ability to sparkle and shine which makes them esteemed as suitable material with which to create "jewellery"? And, after all, do not human beings wear jewellery as a substitute or surrogate for the ability to shine and radiate outwardly which was lost when adopting their animal form? It is possible that people without cosmic awareness cannot see the deeper truth in this. But it is certainly obvious to everybody that one only makes use of jewellery in order to "look more beautiful". But to "look more beautiful" than this or that is just the same as wanting to brighten this or that. And is this not precisely the characteristic of the sun? In reality, then, it is this characteristic of the sun – that is to say, people's own lost divine radiance – which by means of jewellery they unconsciously try to replace.
      Consequently, physical beings and "beings in bliss" find themselves in extensive cooperation with each other. This ranges from the vital necessity of bright sunshine to the most firmly condensed physical matter. Under our feet and above our heads, in the inner and outer parts of our bodies, in our clothes and shoes, in our houses and furniture, in our modes of conveyance, our machines and tools, indeed even in weapons of murder and poisonous substances, there shines and sparkles these former rays of sunshine as the longings and desires of heavenly beings now transformed into automatic functions. But as living consciousness, mentality or manifestations of life, they are unknown to terrestrial man.
