415. Highest terrestrial science regards these automatic functions, these conditions which are alive all around it, as mere "characteristics of lifeless matter". So here one is confidently resting in the superstition that "death" or "lifeless objects" can be the instigators of movement, or indeed of purposeful or logical manifestation. The extreme logical consequence of this would undoubtedly be that the thing created, created its creator, the lifeless created the living, furniture created its carpenter and clothes created their tailor and this has still escaped the powers of observation and logical sense of terrestrial science. No wonder then that this worship of "death' instead of life, this cultivation of unreality instead of reality, was bound to bring mankind to the collapse of civilization which is torturing the world today and which has already been prophesied thousands of years ago as a coming "doomsday" which should gradually lead humanity to a "new heaven" and a "new earth" where "justice and judgement are the habitation of Thy throne".
