421. As the terrestrial globe and its central sun are both organs in a still larger organism (that of the Milky Way) and therefore must each have its mission or task to carry out, the dominant question is – what is the purpose of these tasks?
This also has an easy answer.
Each of the two types of globe represent very greatly differing forces.
We already know that solar forces constitute the reaction of the energy of longing from the "beings in bliss" when they meet instinct-, gravity- and feeling-energies, that is to say the spiral's unintellectual energies.
The interactions of these energies result in a propagation of life's physical material.
In short,
this process is identical with everything which comes under the concept of "sexuality".
All the sunshine in the world is thus "macrocosmic sexual energy".
And it is this energy in its inmost source, originating from heavenly beings, which promotes all physical existence and creation.
No physical organisms, and no bodily construction of any kind would be possible without the shining of the sun, its light and its warmth.
When we view this huge organism, in which the terrestrial globe is an organ, it is obvious for everybody how important its solar energies – that is to say, its "sexual energies" – really are, and moreover what tremendous centres of power these same energies must proportionally represent in an organism.
