Animalism, sexuality and intellectuality are also present in macrocosmos and microcosmos.
434. But it is not only terrestrial man who is endowed with such a supernatural blessing. The process described here is applicable to plant, animal and human organisms in all zones or spheres of consciousness in macro-cosmos, micro-cosmos and meso-cosmos. If we consider solar systems and milky ways, or observe atomic structure, we realize that these same laws govern everywhere. We see cold, dark planets and we see brilliant flaming suns. And what does all this signify? Indeed, does it not imply that energy-masses are also divided into manifestations in which we actually see sexual and intellectual centres? And are each of these manifestations not, therefore, defined as an "organism"? And do they not actually seem analogous with the animal organisms in the meso-cosmos? We only need to consider our own Earth. Does it not contain a certain heat, emanating from its own centre or molten core? And does not this heat or solar energy actually supply the dynamic tension for holding in check the outer "feeling-energy" (the coldness of the Universe), which has to be absolutely exact in order to maintain its global shape, with all its organic functions and cycles so vital for the well-being of its micro-beings? And is it not clearly a fact that, in its own way, it is "animal"? One cannot just ignore the fact that a considerable amount of the matter composing its organism is flesh and blood. Indeed, all the animal beings are really part of its organism. Neither can the fact be denied that this cold globe is also an expression of intellectuality. After all, its collective people consist of quite well-advanced, day-conscious beings who represent an advanced intelligence. And so they provide a strong contrast to the unintellectual solar forces within its inner core, and to the advanced investigator they are shown clearly to be its "intellectual centre". The terrestrial globe is thus, in principle, absolutely the same as a human being or any other living animal-type creature. It contains all the important basic principles which constitute the foundation for the manifestation and identity of a "living being". As this terrestrial globe is also a link in the structure of the solar system, we are faced with the fact that the solar system in the same way fulfils those conditions necessary to justify calling it a "living being". It has that glowing centre which provides the inner dynamic tension against "feeling-energy" or the cold of the Universe, in order that an organism or a system of forces as a whole can be sustained. This, then, is that system's "sexual centre". Furthermore the solar system comprises several other cold globes besides this terrestrial one. With the Earth at the head they represent more or less the system's animal aspects, thereby providing conditions for the manifestation of intellectuality on the physical plane. Therefore the solar system has, in its cold globes, also the beginnings of an "intellectual centre". If we look downwards through the micro-cosmos we see the same governing principles. Here, too, the advanced cosmic researcher will observe that the laws of organisms prevail. Here, too, the struggle will be to gain equilibrium between the sexual and intellectual centres of the system. Here, too, will "the spirit of God move over the face of the waters". And here, too, the supreme impulses of life, sexuality and intellectuality, will dominate existence, visible as the eternal organization of power through which God makes all the sons of God identical with his own all-embracing "image, after His likeness".
