Creating the containment of explosions. The living being can be the lord of explosions or it can be their slave.
523. As all "created things" are "restrained explosions", then "creation" clearly constitutes an "imprisonment" of "explosions". And as "creation" is a "manifestation of will", then it is the "will" which "imprisons" the "explosion". But as "will" is a characteristic of consciousness belonging to a living being, then it is the living being itself which becomes the ruler of the "explosions". The "will", being actually an expression of desire, is thus in a way the "explosions' prison". So a "restrained explosion" thus constitutes a combination of energy which is imprisoned, or bound, by the "will", just as a "free explosion" is a combination of energy which the "will" is not strong enough to hold together, or which is voluntarily "released" by the source of the "will". An "explosion" can therefore be both "voluntary" and "involuntary", which means that the living being can be correspondingly either its "ruler" or its "slave". While one can say that the former is the normal condition in life or existence, and becomes therefore the happiest and most harmonious, the latter expresses a condition of "disharmony" and "unhappiness". It can never be the rightful condition in life experience when the "Lord of Life" has become the slave of "matter". We have been abundantly convinced that this is precisely so by the very present physical existence, with its ocean of sufferings, sorrows and anxieties, its wars and mutilations. These are expressions of those situations in which the Lord of Life (the living being) is the slave of matter. But a "condition of slavery" brings about a "longing" for throwing off the yoke. This "longing" carries new energies through which the "explosions" can come under the control of the "will", and in this way the individual achieves the ability to claim once again his normal state or identity as the "Lord of Life".
