Livets Bog, vol. 2
The "triune principle" constitutes the all-inclusive expression for the very highest analysis of life or existence. All that can be seen or sensed is identical with an illusory world.
539. So the "triune principle" is the revelation of life's greatest mystery. It is the solution to the riddle of existence itself. By understanding this solution, all the mystery surrounding the true identity of the living being is removed. The fact that here in "Livets Bog" we call this principle "X1", "X2" and "X3", or "something No. 1", "something No. 2" and "something No. 3" is not due to an imperfect faculty of analysis, but on the contrary because these expressions are exactly identical with the absolute basis of life. They are the complete and perfect analysis of life itself. No other analysis of any kind whatsoever is possible. Anything that can be said over and above the expressions set forth in the analysis of the triune principle could not possibly express the analysis of the "trinity", for inevitably it could only be an analysis of one or other of this "triune principle's" productions. Thus, throughout all eternity the "triune something" is, and will always be, the absolute and all-encompassing expression for the very highest analysis of life and existence.
We have already several times made the acquaintance in "Livets Bog" of this "trinity", and each of its principles, and further on we will take a final look at this divine reality in connection with the symbols which describe them. Here, our contact with the "trinity" has been based on explaining the deepest origins of the living being's consciousness, that is the innermost source of its wealth of thought. This brought us to the "primordial desire" which led on to "X1" into "X2" and from there to the "fate-element". Here we saw for the first time the creation of contrast. In our investigation of the I and from there outwards towards "matter", we saw "movement" or "energy" for the first time and we found that this "movement" proved to be identical with a rhythmic release of all consciousness, which we already know under the concept of the "spirals". We saw a "minimum expression" and a "maximum expression", and realized for the first time the mystery of limitation. We saw how "that which is unlimited" (something No. 1) created an opposite to itself. This opposite was "that which is limited" (something No. 3). But as "that which is limited" revealed itself to be identical to "that which is unlimited", then its identity as "that which is limited" was shown to be illusory. We saw "limited" dimensions, which in actual fact were not limited, for they contained "infinity". We saw that the smallest and the largest must be identical, for both phenomena reveal the presence of "infinity" or "that which is unlimited" within their compass. We saw that colour, tone, consistency and all other visible or perceivable phenomena in daily life are illusory limitations, for by their very nature, all alike contain "infinity". Thus, everything seen or sensed has been revealed to us as an illusory world.
