As we have seen in the foregoing passages, "God's ways" are not unfathomable, on the contrary, the whole life and consciousness of any living being whatsoever and his every single little sigh from the heart as well as every loud shout or scream, every single silent experience of happiness as well as every violently perturbing or inauspicious fate, none of this can exist without eventually revealing itself as a search for the "ways of God". For every experience, happy or unhappy, finally shows itself to be an indispensable link in a great, logical or systematic world guidance, just as the peak of every being's fate, in the form of true happiness, peace and joy, can exist only as the direct effect of the heights of that same individual's concordance with this world-guidance and its culminating logic, which again is the same as perfect "love". "Love" is thus the final sum total of all creation and thereby all movement, all experience. In truth, not to search out "God's ways" is the same as keeping oneself outside the "science of love" and is the same as opposing that which Providence or the Godhead wishes to impart to the living being, and it must therefore be the real way to "eternal perdition", if such a thing were at all possible.
      But just on account of the fact that no one can evade the all-pervading logic of the world plan, the living being's very conscious or unconscious resistance to existence or to the Godhead, his divergence from love, that is to say his deadly behaviour, is also accounted for in the world plan itself, so that even a life of this kind must, in the end, unavoidably lead the individual to becoming a sworn adherent of love, both in theory and practice. Indeed, is it not so that divergence from divine world logic brings about the unhappiest of fates? But then the unhappiest fate gives the strongest experiences. And as the strongest experiences are the same as the "highest wisdom", and this again can only exist as the highest knowledge in existence, that is to say "God's ways", then it can be seen here that the whole of life is identical to a "searching out of God's ways". Every living being's life and whole existence is thus the same as a question addressed to Providence, and the answer given by that Providence.
      To refuse to "search out God's ways" is thus revealed as being in opposition to life, which is the same as to "kill". To offer resistance to an "investigation of God's ways", which among other things means enquiring into religions, holy books, religious commandments, sacraments etc., is the same as stimulating one of life's greatest and most dangerous violations of law, namely an infringement of the fifth commandment: "Thou shalt not kill". And history, too, has shown us how the "ecclesiastical authorities", on account of this misconception, have to an extreme extent manifested this violation through the Inquisition in the name of Christianity, creating suffering, unhappy fates, torture and executions.
