It is this matter which we call "organic" and which we know, among other things, as the flesh and blood in our own organism. This matter, which has its first beginnings in the "plant kingdom", culminates in the "animal kingdom" and degenerates in the "real human kingdom", is in reality only "mineral matter", the various phases of which as "solid", "liquid", or gaseous consistency, connect to the "radiating" matter. Now, as "radiating" matter is the same as "consciousness-matter" or "mental-matter", then "mineral matter" – on account of its connection with "radiating" matter – will naturally acquire a touch of this latter kind of matter; it will be visibly altered, it will appear as the independently working matter of consciousness and will become apparent to a high degree as "living" substance – indeed it will reveal itself as the highest existing expression for the I's creation in "physical" matter. It is this creation which culminates in the I's appearance in a physical organism.
