603. Now we have cast a small shaft of light into the very greatest cosmic-chemical creative processes in the living being. We have seen that the I juggles both with "living" and with "dead" matter. And in this brief shaft of light we have seen a little glimpse of how justice and thereby love is the ruling factor in the Universe. We have seen how all living beings are entirely of equal status. To be sure we have observed that there are beings superior to ourselves and beings who are inferior, but there actually occurs an equalizing effect on the strength of the fact that we are the same for inferior beings as superior beings are for us. And as there is no limit to the manifestation of beings upwards into macrocosmos, nor downwards into microcosmos, then all living beings must be absolutely equal. They constitute, each one, an independent living "mesocosmic" being, having its own individual consciousness at the same time as constituting a "macrocosmic" and a "microcosmic" being. As this is a fundamental, incontestable analysis which applies to every kind of living being in the Universe then it becomes a fact that basically all beings are equal. No beings exist which, from a cosmic point of view, are "bigger" or "smaller" than others, just as there cannot exist in the Universe beings who are "more favoured" or "less favoured". In principle all are the same, have always been the same and will always remain the same. That they do not all constitute the same simultaneously does not invalidate the above analysis but rather proves, as already mentioned, that the "cycle" is a reality.
