The foundation for the formation of fate. The perfection of every manifestation in the moment of release is its highest.
609. As fate consists of creation and creation can never in any case whatsoever be anything other than the transformation of matter, which again means the destruction of one thing in favour of the construction of something else, then any release of fate will be identical with destruction and construction. We also see this destructive and constructive process in the whole of existence, in all conscious life, indeed, we cannot move at all without being implicated in one way or another in this constructive or destructive process. Indeed, we have just seen that all conscious life is brought about by the power of "hunger" and "satiation". It is this "hunger" that is the cause of construction and this "satiation" that creates destruction. We saw that the spiral itself constituted a wave of such "hunger" and "satiation". Where we ourselves are placed in that spiral's wave of "hunger" and "satiation", depends, of course, upon where our own respective "hunger" or "satiation" is of the same nature as that wave. This is the foundation of all fate-formation. It is this fact which determines that fish have to live in water, and birds can fly in the air and that the plant kingdom culminates in the tropics while polar bears belong in polar regions, just as it is the same principle which causes a person to be placed in poverty, rags and destitution or instead to appear in the midst of abundant wealth, luxury and indulgence. It is the relationship to that condition of "hunger" and "satiation" that decides whether life is to manifest as someone mentally handicapped, deranged, or poorly endowed, or as someone appearing with superior mental ability as an artist, a genius or a world-redeemer.
That this is correct can be seen as an easily intelligible fact. How could a "valourous" warrior, hungering for the manifestation of combat be able to feel happy within a zone of loving beings? And how could a loving being find vent for his manifestation of cosmic light in a zone where all the beings are immeasurably hungry for cosmic darkness and where all release of the "killing principle" is regarded as idealism in that it does, in fact, constitute the very way to the "satisfaction" of their dominating "hunger" for darkness? And how should executioners find an outlet for their fate where the death penalty is an impossibility? Or how to release the desire to steal, to plunder and ravage in a zone where egoism has ceased to be, where all beings would rather give than take and where no poverty, want or destitution is to be found, and where there is no exaggerated desire to possess something for oneself alone? No, nothing whatsoever in the great Universe can be more perfect than it is at any single moment of manifestation. Everything in the present is absolute perfection and therefore altogether the most loving it can possibly be concerning conditions before the present time and conditions after the present time.
