Livets Bog, vol. 2
If the eleventh basic solution to the mystery of life did not exist.
616. With this we have proceeded through the main details of the eleventh basic element in life's mystery. We have seen that, as with its other basic elements, it constitutes such an all-comprehensive link in all life-experience that any such experience would have been an impossibility without the existence of this basic element. Without reincarnation there would be absolutely no renewal of organisms, no creation of organs, no spiral-cycle, no hunger and no satiation. But any existence or a life without an organism or organs, and existence without the spiral-cycle, an existence without hunger and without satiation could not possibly constitute any kind of manifestation and would therefore be an existence without any life whatsoever. Instead of the present fact which expresses the Universe as "eternal life", there would only exist an eternal "nothingness".
