625. Through this section of "Cosmic Chemistry" here in "Livets Bog", the advanced reader has been brought forward quite far in the understanding of his true position and place in the spiral. He has been shown where he has come from and where he is going, and that his way is up a flight of steps leading away from the "killing principle" behind him and into a culmination of love which still lies a long way off on the far distant horizon of the spirit. He has been shown the important details in the laws of existence, the laws of "cosmic chemistry" and all this in broad outline so that he is now equipped with the main points. In the coming chapter of "Cosmic Chemistry" what remains is to present to the investigator all the main local details in his daily activities as he proceeds up that "ladder to the heavens" so that he will no longer lose his way or walk in darkness and no longer experience disappointments and suffering but all the while create complete contact between his inner world and the outer world. In this way he will be without obstacles for experiencing a fate of happiness in being "one with the Father" and living in that culmination of all love: "Everything is very good".
      Let us then conclude the present chapter with a short survey of the particular nature shown by the generally prevailing thought-climates in the sphere of terrestrial man. As we already know, all conscious life, all experience and every sensation is a conscious energy, the origin of which leads back to a manifestation of the will. It constitutes in this way a mental atmosphere; it is either clouds, summer breezes, sunshine or warmth – or it is dull weather, winter cold, frost, snow or ice. Each one of us knows mental experiences which can be classed under one or other of these definitions. So now we will try to understand in what way these psychical experiences of "cold" and "warm", these mental manifestations of "winter" and "summer" are specially met with in terrestrial man's sphere of experience.
      It is a matter of course that here mental "manifestations of cold" will be dominant to a high degree, considering that this sphere is expressing the zone of the "killing principle" and thereby also the world of sorrows, suffering and errors, the opposite of that zone which in "Livets Bog" is expressed as the "divine kingdom".
      Now, as we ourselves are creating the nature of that sphere, it might be useful at this point to look at the main atmosphere itself in Man's terrestrial zone and thereby gain an insight into this cooperation of ours in creating "winter" and "summer manifestations". Perhaps to a certain degree we are producing that fatal cold which freezes everything to death, or perhaps we are the feeble ray of sunshine which begins to warm and revivify everything around it. Or we are perhaps something of both factors but lack the ability to bring these two contrasting energies into complete harmony with each other in our creation or manifestation, thereby creating the confusing mental whirlwinds, tornadoes, floods and other greater symptoms of imbalance in those forces generally valid in the mental sphere of terrestrial people.
