In this section on "Cosmic Chemistry" we have seen throughout all our material that the thoughts, ideas and analyses have been based exclusively on enlightening terrestrial people about a particular area, namely the riddle of their own existence. It goes without saying that this question is of the utmost importance and of the greatest current interest for the most advanced and developed beings here on Earth; and that it is not so for all terrestrial people is also an obvious fact for every normally intelligent person. There is indeed also a large number of people who live in the belief that they have already acquired the true solution to life's mystery in the form of faith in Jesus Christ or another one of those great outstanding leaders of mankind, just as there are others who live their lives in direct opposition to those beliefs and do not believe in anything, indeed, deny everything which they themselves cannot understand. Thus we have here before us the basic source of the cosmic-chemical combination in the spheres of thought and consciousness of all terrestrial people. Terrestrial people's thought-climates will thus to a large extent represent reactions between the two kinds of living beings' differing attitudes or views of life and existence itself. Of course it is obvious that the thoughts and actions of these two kinds of beings must be widely different in conformity with their instigators' specifically different attitudes to life. The believers are convinced that they have found the solution to the riddle of life, and think they are justified in setting themselves up as authorities and moral preceptors for all their fellow beings. And the non-believers think that the others are succumbing to superstition and that they themselves are the true authorities with a right to decide moral laws for terrestrial people. And then there is a third category of beings who neither believe nor disbelieve, but on the other hand, understand a great deal. They constitute the truly wise ones, and on the strength of their considerable knowledge of life are outstanding as the genuine authorities on morality.
      As the two former categories are largely in the majority, while the third category exists only in a very modest minority, it is obvious that the reactions of the two former categories in the sphere of consciousness or mental world of terrestrial people are to a large extent correspondingly predominant. And as the truly wise do not make use of brute force, but on account of their great understanding of all things, are tolerant and loving, then the release of their thoughts will be something which simply cannot mix with the flow of thoughts from the other two categories. Only when a kind of equilibrium has been brought about between the two latter categories can there begin to be a contact with the stream of consciousness from those who are truly wise.
