Life substance no. 63 – "X3"
1002. As the divine "something" has eternally been provided with an "ability to create", it has eternally been able to perceive or create. There has therefore existed equally eternally a result of this ability to create. This result is the same as the "consciousness" with its ever-changing organisms that belong to it. This consciousness or the individual's life is therefore an eternal phenomenon. But as the being's life is an eternal phenomenon, it cannot either be given any analysis other than that it constitutes "something that is". That the individual's present organism is "large" or "small", "beautiful" or "ugly", that its mentality today is described as inclining towards the "good" or the "bad" is only a temporary analysis. An analysis of a state that is in the course of changing is merely an expression of something temporal. But an analysis of something temporal cannot possibly be a final or true expression of something eternal. We are therefore forced to express the individual's consciousness, mentality or life as a nameless phenomenon or as an "X". And so we also express it here in "Livets Bog" as "X3". As this "X" is just as unshakeable a necessity for the individual's existence and life as the other two "X's", we will express this here as "life substance no. 63".
