Livets Bog, vol. 3
The result of the I and its creative ability is also nameless and is expressed as "X3"
697. As the I has eternally had a creative ability, it has eternally manifested itself. There has eternally been a result of this creative ability. But as this result is eternal, it cannot be expressed by any answer in terms of weights or measures either. That the being has an organism is quite rightly a result of this creative ability. But as this organism can never under any circumstances express or be anything other than quite a short-lived locality in the I's eternal production, since it cannot under any circumstances whatsoever exist without being an effect of a preceding result of the I's creative ability, it cannot possibly be an expression of the I's combined result of eternity. It is a fact that every being's organism has had a beginning, and will with equal certainty have an end, and this end will be followed by a new result of creation, which must also perish in order to be followed by a new one, and so on. Because of the limitation of any one single result of creation or any organism, none of the I's present results of creation can be anything other than a limitation or a fraction of its combined eternal production. This eternal production cannot therefore be expressed by anything temporal, since whatever we might find to say about it in temporal terms could encompass only temporary conditions. If we say that it is black it reveals merely that we in our consciousness have experienced something that is white. If we say about something that it is good, it will in the same way reveal that we in our consciousness have experienced the opposite, since nothing can be sensed or experienced except by means of its opposite. In every being's combined, eternal, creative production there must be black just as much as white, yellow just as much as green, evil just as much as good and so on, otherwise the being would be totally without experience and thereby without any form of life whatsoever. But if all such temporal phenomena are equally indispensable sensory factors in the living being's experience of life, no single one of these factors can be an expression of the being's eternal creative production. This can be expressed only by all temporal results at the same time. But the main analysis of a thing that comprises all opposites at one and the same time can be only nameless. It cannot be expressed as black, white, evil or good and so on, if it in equal measure also represents the opposite. And this establishes it as a fact that the living being's eternal result of creation, like "X1" and "X2", can have no other analysis than that it constitutes "something that is". And we therefore find it expressed in "Livets Bog" as "X3".
