710. The present organism is, as previously stated, a purposefully combined block of energies, and is consequently the expression of a plan. But if it is the expression of a plan, it is the expression of thought. But as thought is not something static but exists only as an energy impulse – if this were not the case every being would be unconscious – the plan that the block of energies or organism constitutes cannot be something eternal but has to change as its originator's thoughts, or sphere of thought, change. The organism is merely the I's tool for the manifestation of a certain defined stream of thought or sphere of thought. But as these spheres of thought continually change in accordance with the law of hunger and satiation, the organism also has to be able to be replaced with every new sphere of thought in favour of an organism that can be a tool for this new sphere, and so on continuously, thereby ensuring that the being, regarding its organ or tool, is always on a level with its changing sphere of thought or transformation of consciousness.
      If the being has reached the culmination in one or another direction of manifestation, if it has become a genius, this has become possible only on account of the fact that it has been able to replace its physical organism in favour of an organism that can be a serviceable tool in precisely that particular sensory or creative direction in which its genius lies. But if it has reached the state of being a genius this really means that it has reached a satiation in that particular field. And on becoming satiated with something, the desire for the thing diminishes, and the being has thereby "grown out" of it and a hunger for new things comes about. It would eventually become rather tiresome for this being if it had to continue to live in the organism that was a particularly suitable tool for the sphere of thought that it had grown out of, and that can therefore no longer be the central factor in its wishes, longings or aims. And this offers us yet another new insight into the absolute vital necessity of rebirth or reincarnation.
      Since in the previous basic answers we have already gained an understanding of the living being's "triune principle" as an unshakable analysis and as constituting thereby a proof of this being's eternal existence, it becomes clear to us that our own existence cannot possibly have begun with our present physical organism's tender coming into being in the womb. This organism represents merely a single nuance, a single detail, in our eternal life's combined creative process or "X3". And with the knowledge we have already gained in our research with the help of "Livets Bog" it is not so difficult to see the purpose of our present organism. It appears to the very highest degree as a tool. It is equipped with two eyes, two hands, two feet. It has a skeleton with extremely practical flexible joints that enable us to carry out all the particular manifestations that can satisfy the mental hunger that at present constitutes our mental structure or sphere of thought. That this sphere of thought is changeable and therefore only temporary is verified as a fact through the circumstance that every occupation, that is to say, every kind of manifestation, inevitably leads to a state of having "outgrown" it, which is in turn the same as satiation. This will henceforth be only tedious for the being in question, indeed, in fact will even cause loathing, which is the same as repulsion. This will in turn inevitably create a division between the individual and the particular kind of manifestation, and especially so, as the other kind of manifestation or sphere of thought will from now on become increasingly the central factor in its hunger or desire; indeed, it will even become the new main prerequisite for this being's mental harmony or equilibrium. On account of the inevitability of this satiation, no being can continue for ever to be occupied with the same sphere of thought or kind of manifestation but will inevitably be forced into new kinds of manifestations. And this mental journey, which is in reality merely a transformation process, which in "Livets Bog" we know as the "cycle", in turn consists of the principles: "involution" and "evolution". This involution and evolution are in turn the same as the journey between the two contrasts of the "light" and the "dark", which form the indispensable prerequisites for every form of sensory perception or experience of life.
