The fact that there is, behind the creation of an organism, a wish of such large dimensions that its cycle and thereby its satisfaction cannot be brought to conclusion in the lifetime of a single organism, is shown to be a fact due to the appearance of the organisms as steps on a scale, and through the being's fear of dying. In the being's wish for an existence that continues beyond the lifetime of the present organism we can see the physical reflection of the idea that lies behind the creation of an organism
