734. So how have the abilities or the talents come about?
From what have they originated?
Is not the answer to this question one of the most commonly known phenomena?
Do not all normal human beings recognise the truth in the old saying "practice makes perfect"?
Can we not observe in the conscious education and practice in various fields, which make up a large part of the beings' daily existence, the cosmic-chemical process out of which the talents, aptitudes or accomplishment in the areas in question spring forth or come into being?
What is a talent other than an accomplishment or definite skill in manifesting in the area in question?
But in order to be skilful or to be a master, one has to gather experience, that is to say, one has to "learn".
But to "learn" is in turn the same as to experience a thing repeatedly until one has experienced it sufficiently, that is to say, until one has consciously mastered it.
It is this conscious mastery of a thing that constitutes a talent or aptitude.
As we have seen, a talent is not "something" that suddenly springs out of "nothing".
It is a product of preceding causes, exactly like every other created thing.
