Since the living being or "cosmic chemist" creates its life or experience of existence, this life or existence can be only an expression of these six different kinds of creation or combinations of matter. These six different kinds of creation or forms of expression are therefore the main colouring of life. And here in "Livets Bog" we have already become familiar with this six-fold colouring of life as the spiral's six kingdoms, together with the living beings that belong to them. When we talk about beings of instinct, gravity, feeling, intelligence, intuition and memory, we are in doing so expressing really only certain forms of colouring of life. The living being itself, that is to say the I and its superconsciousness, exists behind these forms and has in itself no outer colouring. Here the living beings are each only expressions of a "something" that exists; they are only a principle and as such are undifferentiated, which means that they are above any form of visibility or accessibility to sensing. The quality of being different in the living beings is made up of only that part of the beings that is "created", that is to say, that part that is a product of senses and can therefore be experienced only by means of senses. And it is through these senses, and helped by the revelation of a special principle that directs these senses and for which they are tools, that the I and its superconsciousness become living facts. But as this I and its superconsciousness are the creators or producers of all colouring and must therefore always be present before every creation, the I cannot in itself be coloured, which means it cannot express any form of physical or mental visibility or accessibility to sensing. And as we know, this is the reason why we have expressed it as "X1" and its superconsciousness as "X2". On the other hand, what we have defined as "X3" is precisely the cooperation of these two principles and the result of them, which is in turn the same as the process of creation and its result. These two factors constitute everything that has come about with the help of the senses and that can be experienced with the senses. This "something" that is accessible to the senses constitutes what we call "life". Without this "something" or the third "X", "X1" and "X2" would be equal to "nothing", since no creation or experience would take place. But without these first two "X's", life would similarly be an impossibility or equal to "nothing", since life is not independent but constantly reveals itself as a result of an I and a superconsciousness, and together with these two principles constitutes the trinity that, as we have already acknowledged repeatedly, is the basic cosmic analysis of every living being.
