782. If we look at "X3" what we witness is the fact that the beginning of "movement" absolutely does not exist here. In this connection this particular "X" constitutes everything that relates to or belongs to the living being's organism. And if we look at this organism, there is no "fixed point" whatsoever to be found in it. It is of course quite true that there are many things in it that we express as "fixed", but we already know from previous analyses here in "Livets Bog" that neither our organism nor anything whatsoever that exists outside it that is accessible to sensory perception can exist without being identical to "movement". If this were not so it would be inaccessible to sensory perception, as sensory perception or experience can exist only as a reaction to the contact between our own inherent nature and the inherent nature of our surroundings. A reaction is actually the same as the interaction between two kinds of movement. And if there were no movement, but an absolute stillness, any reaction, and consequently any sensory perception or experience of life, would be totally out of the question.
      "X3" constitutes therefore an area in which there is absolutely no "fixed point". As already mentioned, there are certainly a number of phenomena that we define by that term, but these are in actual fact only relative. We are all used to regarding the Earth as a "fixed point", but it has long been established as a scientific fact that it is a planet that is moving, and that this so-called "fixed point", from a certain viewpoint, carries us through space at a speed of about 30 kilometres a second. But if the planet, which is our particular place of refuge, cannot in itself constitute a "fixed point", it will be impossible for any other thing at all that has this planet as its support to be an absolute "fixed point". The planet takes everything with it on its gigantic course.
