"X2" as constituting the area in which the consciousness connects with the "divine something". At the threshold of the very first faint dawning of consciousness or life
788. There therefore exists "something" that is not "movement" but is the master of the "movement" or its directing factor. This factor therefore has to be by its very nature standstill, and thereby constitutes the "fixed point" from which "movement" can quite simply have its first origin.Without this "fixed point", no "movement" whatsoever could receive its first origin and could consequently never come about.Since the existence of this "something" is the firm requirement for the existence of every "movement", without it in itself being able to constitute "movement", we have here found an area where "movement" does not exist. But since this "fixed point" does not exist in the area of "X3", which, as we have seen, constitutes an area of one hundred per cent "movement", the connection between "movement" itself and the "fixed point" is therefore to be found in neither "X1" nor "X3".As all that remains is the area of "X2", it is this area that will thus reveal itself as the setting for the connection between the "movement", and thereby the life of consciousness, and the "divine something".In the domain of this "X" we therefore come across an extremely remarkable state. Here we will find both an absolute "stillness" or "fixed point" and "movement", a condition that would be totally impossible in the other two "X's".As we have already pointed out, in "X1" we will find only absolute "stillness" and in "X3" only "movement".It is clearly evident that these two "X's" would be totally lifeless or dead factors if they each existed merely independently, each in its own state. But as we already know, these "X's" do not exist independently but are inextricably joined in a single unit.It is only in these analyses that we can separate the single "X's" and their particular characteristics from each other. It is this inextricable connection, which is a prerequisite for the combined or united appearance of the "X's", that is accessible to the senses as a "living being". We find the second "X" as the centre of this divine interaction, this divine trinity, this ingenious revelation of the "living being", radiant and glorious in "God's own image".It is here that the very first weak glimmerings appear of the divine radiance that we call "consciousness".In the very core of "X2" we find ourselves at the threshold of the very first faint dawning of life.As yet all is hushed and still.A vaguely discernible atmosphere, an aspiration of hope and an increasing tension are what will lead us from the "fixed" or "solid" ground of the I out over the immense vibrating ocean of the world of forms. But we are still in the regions of night. Our mentality's clear sun of consciousness is still below the horizon ahead. We are as yet in the area of the great stillness, the great silence or the absolutely "fixed something", whose eternal stability or immobility equally eternally guarantees us the fundamental "fixed axis" around which the immense star world, sun cities and mental galaxies of our consciousness or our senses can securely, steadily and calmly revolve. And in an eternally continuing rhythm, spiral after spiral, our experience of life is guided into one ocean of light after another, where we become witness to a revelation of kingdom after kingdom, sphere after sphere, baptism of fire after baptism of fire, in order that initiation after initiation into life's highest light and darkest shadows may pass through the most sacred regions of our thought worlds, thereby making us one with the Godhead, so that within his glorious living work of art we may eternally take part in "breathing into everything the breath of life", in radiating intellectuality and love over the beings, zones and spheres of the whole world.
