869. Only through evolution can creation take place, not through some kind of miracle. No form of "forgiveness of sins" whatsoever, or any other sacrament whatsoever, has as its purpose to neutralise evolution. The beings are still "sinners", that is to say, they are still predestined to make new serious mistakes in life, regardless of the extent to which they have received "forgiveness for their sins". Is it not precisely this that becomes a fact for every serious and honest researcher when he observes those whose "sins have been forgiven", that is to say, the so-called "saved"? Is it not still beings who, from a biological point of view, are forced to live under the laws of the animal and the animal methods for maintaining the survival of their species? Does the one that is "saved" not have to continue being the same "male" or "female being" that he or she was beforehand? Does it not therefore still have to be dependent on the same desire to enjoy the opposite sex, and be tormented by the same anguishes of jealousy that every state of being in love inevitably entails? And do beings of its own sex not therefore have to continue being rivals? Do the "saved" not still somehow have to belong to the area of beings that are "rutting" or "on heat", as long as he or she is young, healthy and sexually mature? It is of no importance to the serious researcher that elderly people sometimes proclaim themselves as being far above such a sexual state, since their anti-sexual attitude is simply a "sign of decrepitude". The perfect "god-like human being's" liberation from the primitive sympathies and antipathies of the urge to mate and jealousy is not due to "decrepitude", neither is it due to the organs of its natural urges having withered away. A really perfect human being or the true "god-like human being" is not a withered plant or the wreck or ruin of something formerly natural and beautiful, an extinct crater. The true "god-like human being", as well as the "animal", is a being that is perfect by virtue of its fully flourishing organs. The only difference is that while the full flourishing of the animal's sexual organs promotes urges that can be accompanied by only jealousy and fighting, thereby revealing these organs as tools for the killing principle, the flourishing of the sexual organs of the "god-like human being" promotes urges that can find expression as only understanding and sympathy towards everyone and everything, thereby being a flourishing tool for the creation or promotion of "universal love". And was it not precisely this mental state that the world redeemer represented? And might it not be that it was this atmosphere that formed the basis of the kingdom he referred to as "my kingdom", and of which he said that it was "not of this world"? And were not all his words, his teaching and talks to the people in favour of developing this atmosphere? Does he not say specifically that "to love one's neighbour as oneself" constitutes the "fulfilment of all the laws"? And is it not the flourishing of this mental atmosphere that he heralds as a "new heaven" and "new earth", which after the "day of judgment" will become a reality on Earth? What other reason would there be for such a mighty effort to promote neighbourly love and to abolish the use of the sword? If all these commandments, all these directions that the world redeemer declared as the way to the kingdom of heaven, are phenomena that are totally unrealisable by human beings, all this shining wealth of wisdom that he gave out would be completely meaningless, indeed could actually be an expression of the "killing principle" and cannot possibly be identical to the "living water" that he declared his wisdom to be.
