That these two concepts of "heaven" and "hell" are not an intellectual answer to the above question, but are exclusively two formulas for the highest mystery of life that can satisfy unintellectual beings, becomes clear from the fact that these formulas cannot continue to satisfy the beings' demand for an answer to the question. It is a fact that the more scientific the instruction or the greater the intellectual insight the beings get into phenomena that are accessible to the physical senses, the stronger are their doubts regarding "heaven" and "hell". If the beings can outgrow an answer to a question so that this answer can no longer in any way be in accordance with the solution to the question, there must be something wrong with either the beings or the answer. The fact that the beings evolve and gain greater insight into the problems of life is a direct consequence of the Earth's rotation on its axis and its orbit around the sun and of all the phenomena that arise from this, and as a result this relationship cannot be altered without altering the mutual relationship between the sun and the Earth to such an extent that all evolution would be impossible. Who is able to do that? Can a human being go against the sun's or the Earth's course through the universe? But as no human being can do that, their evolution must surely be connected to the originator of the forces that govern the organisation of the universe and the course of the planets. If the beings' evolution is thus a link in the cycle of the planets and can thereby be traced back directly to being determined by the originator of this cycle, this evolution and the resultant doubt or disbelief cannot be some kind of "sin"; nor can it be blamed on the individual. That beings become non-believers is thus just as natural a phenomenon as the law of gravity or the emergence of day and night or summer and winter. Persecuting non-believers and thereby forcing them to retain concepts that in reality they have grown out of is contrary to the cycle of life itself and against the very course of the universe. Is it not more "sinful" to threaten beings with "eternal damnation" or to condemn them to an everlasting stay in "hell" because they are connected to a phenomenon that is a result of the orbiting of the planets?
