892. As we have seen, we have found in the sufferings on Earth a rival to the non-physical "hell". Should such a "hell" be beneficial? The answer must be an unqualified "yes". The advanced researcher will never in any case whatsoever be able to witness anything in the universe that is totally without benefit. If something could exist that has no benefit, it would be impossible for "everything to be very good", which we, through the twelve basic answers to the "mystery of life" in "Livets Bog", have long ago documented, to the truly intellectual reader, as fact. A thing that has no benefit, and according to these basic answers cannot cause harm either, can be only the same as totally without effect. But it will then be equal to zero or "nothing", making its existence a total impossibility. As a result the "eternal hell" must either be of benefit or not exist at all.
      With respect to this "hell", it has been declared as being the manifestation of "eternal damnation", in other words, an incorporation of the individual into a culminating torture, suffering or torment from which, as we have already said, it can never in all eternity be freed. What useful purpose is served by this colossal process of suffering? As the being in question cannot be freed from this terrible state, it can never ever derive any benefit whatsoever for itself from its state. It cannot be changed; it cannot become perfect. Under no conditions whatsoever can it make use of the experience that such a state of suffering must inevitably offer it. As the being's further development is thus in this case not altered by this suffering, this state of suffering thereby becomes visible as being of absolutely no benefit.
