939. All kinds of normal functions in the organism that are not subject to the day-conscious control of the will, such as the functions of the heart, lungs, glands, kidneys, liver etc., are thus "knowledge C", and have gradually evolved through the individuals' successive terrestrial lives to this independent stage of manifestation. All functions have begun as "knowledge A", have become "knowledge B", after which they constitute the "knowledge C" or the automatic function in the organism under which they are manifesting.Once a function of the will has in this way become "knowledge C", it has become a so-called "ability" or "talent".All automatic functions are "talents" and are thereby perfect in their particular field, for they have been able to come about only through practice and training and are thus the result of the highest practical testing. But for every "knowledge C" or for every "talent" there must exist an organ where the talent is located, and which regulates it.Such a central location or organ for the talent is called in "Livets Bog" the "talent kernel".Every talent has its roots in a non-physical or mental organ in the form of a "talent kernel".Such a "talent kernel" we will refer to here as "life substance no. 16".
