950. As we have said, the I is also a "member of the audience" of its own stage of life (the subconsciousness), and this stage therefore also has a side that faces the "audience member" and that constitutes a kind of "auditorium" from where the illusion conveyed by the "disguises" and the "scenery" becomes reality. This reality is the same as the aforementioned "play" or "fate". And this side of the subconsciousness, or the I's "auditorium" to its own stage of life, in which it senses or experiences "fate", is the same as what we here in "Livets Bog" call "day-consciousness". We will therefore designate it as "life substance no. 36".
