We have now reached the stage where we have seen the overall structure of the living being and have gained an insight into how it consists of the I and its superconsciousness, which is in turn connected to a subconsciousness consisting of the "day-consciousness" and the "night-consciousness". These are the factors that make the I a "living being" or an "individual". Without these factors no form of experience of life whatsoever could take place. And the universe, which today is so radiant, would be an absolute "nothingness". There would exist no form of consciousness whatsoever, and death, which is feared by so many but can in reality constitute only an imagined opposite of life, would in the form of this "nothing" therefore emerge as an irrefutable fact, but this is however the opposite of the facts. And we will therefore dwell for a while on this massive factor.
      What is life? As we have mentioned, life consists of the "play" that is performed on the stage of the individual's subconsciousness, with the I as the "director" and "performer" and at the same time, from the "auditorium", a "member of the audience" of the play. But as we touched on before, there is one more "performer" on this individual's stage of life, namely "God" or the "Father". Without this "performer" the play, and thereby the I's experience of life, would be impossible.
