963. But as the reader will now understand, this does not mean that the being is lacking materially or physically – quite the contrary. It is at this very point that it culminates in displaying tremendous material power, sometimes enslaving entire nations, tribes or races, subjugating them and using them as tools with which to satisfy its materialistic attitudes and the resultant desires and dispositions. The history of mankind has long ago proved it to be an indelible fact that such satisfaction is no culmination of the practice of "neighbourly love", neither is it a worship of a true, real and loving Godhead. Wars, bloodshed, mutilation, conquests, subjugation and oppression, death rattles, weeping and gnashing of teeth, ruins, destitution, hunger and illness are the footprints that the crude, unintellectual heroes of material power have left behind them wherever they have gone on the Earth. It is this unintellectual, power-filled being that is symbolised in the biblical accounts of the "Fall", "the prodigal son" and the "devil" itself.
