Terrestrial human beings have become biased in favour of the final phase of world redemption and therefore deny its first phase any form of identity with light
980. It is taken for granted that the world redeemers of the final phase appeal to the terrestrial human beings of today much more than the world redeemers of the first phase, since these latter beings represent merely a form of guidance and stimulation that the terrestrial human beings of today have absolutely no use of, because, as we have said, they themselves now possess the mental state or quality of consciousness of these helpers from the past to such an overwhelming degree that such a state of consciousness is to them nothing other than a nuisance, a nuisance that they struggle to free themselves from. Seen from this local level of consciousness, this state of consciousness has therefore become something "evil". And the fact that they call this entire sphere of consciousness "darkness" or "evil", and the world redeemers of this sphere the "devil" or "devils" and such like, is due solely to a local point of view. Their mental horizon does not stretch beyond this local point of view. They are therefore prevented from seeing that here too they are witnessing the principle of world redemption, and consequently they are forced to be biased in favour of that part of world redemption that they can see or comprehend. But, as already mentioned, bias or partiality is the unseen or hidden weight on the scales of justice. In this case the unseen weight is in favour of the final phase of world redemption. At their present stage terrestrial human beings are therefore biased in favour of the final phase of world redemption and will therefore undervalue the initial phase of this redemption, denying that this phase has any identity with the light or divine, all-embracing love. As long as the being lives with this bias, it is living with a false view of the Godhead itself and its real world plan, and as a result it is unable to attain any absolutely reliable proof of the existence of this divine all-embracing love. Its view of the Godhead as well as of life and its own self can be and become only a "matter of faith", unless it is a complete materialist that denies both spirit and God.
