996. So what does this concealment, which renders relative analyses unreal or illusory, consist of?It consists of the fact that one does not distinguish between the "fixed point" and the "movement".One does not therefore distinguish between "that which experiences" and "that which is experienced".And the inevitable result is that one regards the world redeemer's cosmic analysis or statement, just as any other cosmic analysis, as a temporal phenomenon.Instead of evaluating it from the true "fixed point" or the eternal "something that is", one evaluates it from something transitory, one evaluates it from the view that this transient thing – which really means the organism – and the eternal "something" are identical. As the organism is a "temporal" phenomenon, everything that one measures with this phenomenon as a starting point can produce only a "temporal" result which, as the reader already knows, can express only one "movement's" relationship to another "movement".But an analysis that describes only one "movement's" relationship to another "movement" can never in any instance be a true expression or a real analysis of something eternal or unchangeable, that is to say "something" that is not "movement".The eternal "something", which must of necessity exist behind the organism as the "fixed point" around which the organism comes into being and "moves", is therefore motionless and can never in any instance whatsoever be "that which moves or changes".Were this not so, neither cosmic nor materialistic answers, neither relative nor absolute answers, neither temporal nor eternal answers could ever arise.Indeed, there would exist no form of consciousness or life at all, since the contrast, without which all sensory perception and experience of life would be an absolute impossibility, would be completely lacking.
