The "living being's" various kinds of appearance, such as plants, animals, human beings and so on are realistic phenomena of perspective
1091. It has become evident here that the "living being" constitutes a "micro-view" from one of the ledges on the "sensory mountain". But since it thus constitutes an existing "view" from one of the ledges of the "sensory mountain", its appearance as a "plant", an "animal", a "human being" and so on becomes an unshakeable reality. None of these kinds of appearance is an illusion but constitutes a realistic "view" from each respective particular point on the "sensory mountain". One cannot therefore deny the existence of an "animal" as an "animal", because an "animal" is in reality merely a particular way of reacting to the senses. If this is not realistic, the other kinds of reactions to the senses, such as a "human being", a "plant" and a "mineral", are likewise unreal. And if they are unreal, no sensory perception, and thereby no life, exists. But this view shows itself to be an illusion since it constitutes precisely the opposite of what is an unshakeable fact, namely the fact that "life", and thereby the "living beings", exist. But just as the existence of "plants", "animals" and "human beings" is an unshakeable fact, so too is it a fact that a "living being" can be "evil" or "unjust", and can be a "villain", a "gangster" or "criminal", just as it can be "good", "loving", "holy" and so on, since these forms of manifestation or life are also realistic phenomena of perspective. They constitute the particular ways in which the local features of the ledge react to the senses.
