1107. With regard to these zones in the range of sensory perception or universe, we already know that they are of course the zones of culmination for the basic energy they are named after, although all the other energies are actually also present in each of the zones, albeit in a form that is more or less subordinate to the general energy or the energy that the zone has been named after. (See symbol no. 9, Livets Bog 2.)
As the above-mentioned symbol shows, for the "plant kingdom" this will thus mean
that the "energy of gravity" here is at its second stage on its way up and the "energy of feeling" is at its first stage on its way up, while the "energy of intelligence" is completely latent.
The "energy of intuition" and the "energy of memory", however, are at their last and next-to-last stages respectively on their way down.
That they are on their way down or decreasing thus means that they reached the peak or culmination of their manifestation in a previous spiral.
They are the "remains" of this previous spiral and must therefore degenerate and go towards their latent state before they can develop further and have a format or capacity such that they can come to constitute the awake "day-consciousness" of the being concerned in the new spiral.
That they are on their way down or degenerating also means that their awake "day-consciousness" is decreasing.
But since their awake "day-consciousness" is decreasing, their "night-consciousness" is increasing, which means that they go more and more over to automatic functioning.
But at the same time as the being's awake "day-consciousness" from a previous spiral is thus gradually transformed into "night-consciousness", the being's evolution of a new "day-consciousness" begins in the new spiral that has commenced.
And the energy that has advanced furthest, and must therefore be the first energy to create "day-consciousness" in the above-mentioned new spiral, is thus the "energy of instinct".
