But it is not so much the "outer" cessation of energy either – even though this certainly occurs to a very great extent in the domain of the "kingdom of bliss" – that is intended as a "rest" for the "living being", for such a "rest" could not in itself be a real "rest" for the individual because if it took the form of an absolute cessation of energy it could not be experienced. In order to be a real, effective "rest" it must be something that can "be experienced". But in order to be something that can "be experienced", it must also be "movement", for otherwise it would be impossible for it to react to the senses, which an "outer material experience" absolutely must do in order to be an "experience". "Rest" is thus not revealed or manifested through an absolute cessation of energy. "Rest", as previously mentioned, is something that must "be experienced" and must therefore constitute "movement". But even if "rest", as also mentioned previously, is certainly a very great "reduction of energy" in the appearance of the "living being" in the "outer world", this "reduction" is not in itself, however, the real "rest" for this being. The great, effective, absolute "rest" is on the contrary simply the "passivity" towards life exhibited by every being in the "kingdom of bliss".
